Glad you could join us!

The sixth year of North Oakview’s Watch D.O.G.S. program has begun. We have had over 300 dads come and be a friend and help the kids at North Oakview. North Oakview’s Watch D.O.G.S. chapter started in the fall of 2011, thanks to the efforts of principal Teya Cotter and teacher Jason Hoogenstyn. At the kick-off event, over 100 Dads and their children showed up, many of whom signed up on the spot for volunteering as a Watch DOG.

The Watch D.O.G.S. program at North Oakview is managed by a core team consisting of Principal Teya Cotter, teacher Jason Hoogenstyn and Top Dog Brett Wardrop, along with Watch D.O.G.S. coordinator Nicole Quick and alumni Top Dog Sam Knochs. All of the parents had previously volunteered at North Oakview, and together with Teya and Jason expanded on the need of volunteers that would be male role models for students.
